Silkpay - Bridging Commerce Gaps with Cross-Border Payment Solutions

Cross-border commerce breaks at the checkout.

Silkpay is a Paris-born payments fintech that helps merchants in Europe and the US accept the wallets tourists actually use, like Alipay+, WeChat Pay, and UnionPay, alongside Visa, Mastercard, CB, PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.

The product is simple on purpose: a ready-to-use POS terminal for in-store, plus online rails like API and PayByLink, with settlement into the merchant’s local bank account.

They price like an acquirer: commission per successful transaction, and a POS terminal offer advertised at 49€/month, with “tailored” processing rates depending on the merchant.

Founders matter here. Annie Guo started Silkpay after watching cash get rejected in China in 2015, then built the company in 2016 with co-founder Damiano Rinaldi, bringing a banker’s obsession with compliance and a merchant’s obsession with conversion.

Silkpay has collected strong distribution signals for a payments startup: LVMH Innovation Award, Money20/20 startup finalist mentions, and partnerships that expand acceptance across channels and geographies, while keeping the merchant experience “plug in and go.” FinBox Solutions picked it because it’s not a new payment method, it’s a new customer segment arriving at your door.

If you run a retail or hospitality business, would you rather pay 49€/month for a global-ready POS, or only optimize online and hope staff can improvise at the counter?
