Ledgy: Streamlining Equity Management for High-Growth Private Companies

Equity is where spreadsheets go to die.

Ledgy is a Zurich-built equity management platform for companies that issue employee equity and keep raising rounds. It replaces cap table chaos with a single system for grants, vesting, documents, investor dashboards, and scenario modeling.

This is fintech in the “boring but expensive” category. When your ESOP touches payroll, accounting, taxes, and legal, the cost of being wrong is a board-level problem, not an ops annoyance.

Ledgy sells SaaS, typically to finance and legal teams at high-growth private companies, and it wins on trust plus workflow. They lean hard into enterprise readiness with ISO 27001:2022, and SOC 1 Type II and SOC 2 Type II reports completed in September 2025.

The company is led by co-founder and CEO Yoko Spirig, and it has raised real money for a European cap table player: a €1M seed (2018), a $10M Series A led by Sequoia (2021), and a $22M Series B led by NEA (2022), with Sequoia, Speedinvest, 20VC, btov and VI Partners also in the mix.

The timing makes sense. Europe has more cross-border hiring, more hybrid equity plans, and more scrutiny around reporting and controls, so “just use Excel” stops working fast once you have multiple share classes and international employees.

If you run a startup in Europe, would you switch cap table providers for better compliance and reporting, or is migration risk still the real moat?
