Arcadia Power - Revolutionizing Energy Payments and Promoting Clean Energy
Arcadia Power transforms your energy bill by acting as a digital utility, enabling seamless payments and savings without switching providers. With community solar discounts and a cleaner energy mix, they handle bill data and payments efficiently.
Your energy bill is a payments problem hiding in plain sight.
Arcadia Power, now Arcadia, built a “digital utility” that plugs into utility accounts, pulls the bill, and lets customers pay and save without switching providers. For consumers, that can mean community solar discounts and a cleaner energy mix with the same lights staying on.
The fintech angle is the rail: Arcadia sits between the utility and the customer, handling bill data, autopay, statements, and reconciliations. If you manage payments through Arcadia, they receive your utility bill, process payment using your chosen method, and send you an Arcadia statement.
They make money like an infrastructure business, not a media brand: software and data APIs for energy companies, plus monetization through programs like community solar where billing and collection are core. By April 2024, Arcadia said it served 300+ enterprise customers and worked with 75+ community solar developer partners.
The company was founded by Kiran Bhatraju in Washington, DC, and it has raised real capital across cycles: $25M Series B (Aug 2018), $30M Series C (Dec 2019), $100M Series D (Sep 2021), and another $50M growth round (Apr 2024). The Series D was led by Tiger Global and the Drawdown Fund, and the 2024 round included Macquarie Asset Management plus a bench of repeat energy and fintech-adjacent investors.
Why now: electrification is turning every home into a finance-like ledger. EV charging, solar credits, dynamic rates, and carbon accounting all require clean, permissioned utility data, plus a trusted way to move money across messy legacy billing systems.
FinBox Solutions picked Arcadia because it quietly proves a thesis most fintech misses: whoever controls the bill and the data layer becomes the platform. In 2025, Arcadia even expanded further into enterprise energy services, including procurement, by acquiring RPD Energy.

If you were building on utility data, would you sell an API to enterprises, or own the consumer autopay flow?
